Amsterdammers are full of energy and always on the run. So even on their days off they try to plan (yes, Dutch people love to plan) as much as possible in one day.

The day starts with some healthy breakfast and a good coffee, thus Yoghurt Barn, is the place to be. At Yoghurt Barn you are confronted with six varieties of yogurt mixed with all sorts of fruits, grains and nuts.
From your healthy breakfast you are ready to indulge yourself with other cultures. Dutch people love other cultures whether it comes down to actual interests, learning languages and eating food which tastes better than their own cuisine.

So it is time to explore the Tropenmuseum. This museum takes you on the journey through place and time, where you get to explore lots, from the Dutch mark on the rest of the world to the differences in music styles in the continents. The museum is extremely informative with an interactive twist.

Now it is time to taste the best Apple pie to be found in Amsterdam. Winkel 43 is a café at the Noordermarkt (on Monday there is even a market outside the café). Take the biggest piece of apple pie with some sweet whipped cream as the locals do and because you need some energy for the next activity.

When finished you take your bicycle (rentals are available at easyHotel) and make a tour along the Amstel river. This way you get to enjoy the quiet side of Amsterdam. Moreover, you can enjoy the ride on the bicycle as you do not have to pay attention to trams, busses, cars, cyclist or ‘tourists’ getting in your way.

Dinner will be served at a pancake restaurant, as the Dutch eat pancakes for dinner. Good options are ‘de Caroussel’ nearby easyHotel or ‘the Pancake Bakery (in west, nearby the Anne Frank house).

After Dinner it is time to hit to Floor 17, on the top floor of the Ramada in West. This sky bar at level 17 gives you the best view of Amsterdam from the sky. Moreover, during wintertime there is an ice rink and during summer time an outdoor cinema.

By now your day is coming to an end, but not before you busted a move. Club NYX is one of the newer clubs (located on the Reguliersdwarsstraat, the gay street of Amsterdam). Getting hungry from clubbing? Try our local treat, kroket, from local snackbar FeBo (name originating from Ferdinand Bolstraat, (around the corner of easyHotel) where the first FeBo was located).

*Note, It is a must for locals to go to the parks when the sun is shining (no matter what the temperature is like). When mingling with locals make sure to buy lots of meat, drinks and you disposable bbq at the supermarket.
