What to do when you are in Scheveningen?

The Hague has many hot spots but there’s is one place you must visit when in the area: Scheveningen. These are the places you should visit and the things you should do when you’re in Scheveningen

Activities

When it’s your first time visiting Scheveningen we have one solid recommendation for you: visit De Pier. De Pier is probably the most famous attraction of Scheveningen, that has recently been renewed. It holds several shops and restaurants, like O’Neill, Red Bull Racing Eyewear, Kust Lounge and The Rough Kitchen. Climb the stairs to the top of De Pier and you will find the 50 meter high ferris wheel, the bungee platform and the Zipline.

Another great spot to visit is the Kurhaus. This majestic building descended from 1818 and it’s now used as a 5 star hotel with an epic room view. On the other side of the Kurhaus you’ll find Holland Casino and the cinema Pathé within walking distance.

Beach

For the water types there are plenty of activities. Scheveningen is a great place to surf. Not that experienced with surfing? No problem, the beach holds a few surf schools where you can find all the support, teachers and equipment you’ll need.

There’s to do than just surfing of course. The waters are also a great place for water activities like: RIB sailing, hoverboarding, flyboarding, jet skiing and flying in a jetpack.

Food

Scheveningen is a great place to eat. There are a lot of restaurants on the boulevard but if you really want to experience what Scheveningen has to offer you have to eat at one of the many beach clubs. The beach clubs come in a many shapes and sizes but there a few should’ve eaten at at least once in your life, like Barbarossa Beach, Solbeach and The Fat Mermaid.

Barbarossa Beach serves you fresh and fair trade dishes. The dishes come from Mediterranean and Asian cuisine and are made with passion. Apart from the delicious food served at Barbarossa they are also known for their interior. Barbarossa is a sight for sore eyes with their elegant and beachy style.
